The Talent Behind SCT
Help Support SCT
By Vaclav Havel
Translated from Czech by Paul Wilson
Company President Mr. Gross receives a memorandum but can’t read it because it’s written in Ptydepe*, the newly invented language to which all correspondence must adhere. If he can’t figure out what it says, he’ll lose his job and certainly his mind. This satirical take on bureaucracy and office malarkey is an incisive look at 20th century Communist Czechoslovakia, but it could just as easily be today’s America.
But that’s not all! We’re offering special events throughout the run. Learn more HERE.

Single Carrot Theatre’s annual gala plays a leading role in sustaining our education and outreach operations: funds raised through gala ticket sales and live and silent auctions allow SCT to offer scholarships to High School Conservatory students; teach free afterschool literacy programs; and bring actors and artists into classrooms across the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland.
Single Carrot Theatre has moved to 2600 N. Howard Street
Our phone number (443.844.9253) and email addresses are the same, but our mailing address has changed. One of the many upsides to having a long-term home? No more PO box! Please remove our old mailing address – PO Box 2334, Baltimore, MD 21203 – from your records. From now on, you can send mail to:
