“Because of learning about devised work and various approaches to it, I think I’ll have a much more playful and open approach to working on a role. And I hope that I’ll be able to do some creating of my own, as opposed to interpreting. I also see much more in everyday objects – more potential and opportunity for creativity and fun. Things have started to open up and to loosen up. The seminar has been eye-opening and inspirational.”
Above is a quote from a student who took our Devised Work Seminar. Reading quotes like this reminds me of how theatre and theatre education can change our view of the world.
The ensemble members at Single Carrot Theatre have expressed to me that each time they teach a class they grow as artists as well. This is one of my favorite things about education. It is a mutually beneficial experience.
Please come learn and explore with us this Saturday (Jan. 21st from 9:30am-12:30pm) in our Beginning Acting Workshop. There are only a few slots left. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
