Fall Semester at Single Carrot

While we’re in education mode with our Summer High School Conservatory up and running,  I thought I’d let you know of some fantastic opportunities that are coming up at Single Carrot Theatre.  For our FALL SEMESTER we are going to have two great workshops with local artists:

Dialects with Rachel Hirshorn on 9/22/12

Rachel Hirshorn brings her charm and skills to Single Carrot Theatre with her Dialect Workshop. Rachel got her BFA from UMBC, and a MFA from UMKC. Recently she started ‘Submit 10 Balitmore’ – an evening of stage readings hosted at Liam’s Irish Pub on North Ave. With her drive to continue to educate young artists, she will demonstrate the mastery of dialects for the stage.

Improv with Bruce Nelson on 12/8/12

Bruce Nelson is a sharp and witty gentleman. Join this Improvisation Workshop and be taught by the king.  For the uninitiated (or at least partially initiated) this workshop will be a great way for anyone 18 or older to get their feet wet.

More to come on these great opportunities…

Hope to see you soon,

N.A. Fulton

24HOUR PLAYS: Tonight August 25 at 8pm

24-HOUR PLAYS on Saturday August 25th 8:00pm

You know we don’t do anything halfway at Single Carrot Theatre, so we’re hosting TWO 24-hour plays. What’s a 24-hour play, you ask? Imagine this: a team of writers write a play from 8pm to 8am, they then hand it off to the director and actors. Those folks rehearse the play for 12 hours, and then perform it- JUST FOR YOU. 24-hour plays are wild, crazy, unpredictable, and offer a peek inside humanity’s oddest location- the brain of a writer who hasn’t slept. Join us to see how far they’ll go, and what brand of insanity they present.

Contributors: Genevieve de Mahy, Paul Diem, Ryan Dunne, Nathan Fulton, Richard Goldberg, Ben Hoover, Dylan Koehler, Chris Krysztofiak, Julie Lewis, Dustin Morris, Bruce Nelson, Britt Olsen-Ecker, Tim Paggi, Brad Ranno, Elliott Rauh, Lauren Saunders, Beth Weber, Michael Varelli & Mike Zemarel.
