Single Carrot offers enriching and thrilling arts camps and classes to school-age students. In these programs, young artists flex their creative muscles as they grow in collaboration, communication, creation, and confidence. Each learning experience is built around a central “provocation” to ignite students’ imaginations. From there, artist-participants bring their own characters, story, and scenes to life through the wild and wonder-full theatrical devising process!
For two weeks in June 2021, our Camp Carrot: The Tallest Tales artists explored all the mystery and adventure surrounding Scout Troop #3001’s journey into a fantastical forest. We look forward to an all-new theatrical adventure in spring and summer 2022! More information will be announced winter 2022 – please look forward to it!
Be You! is a summer Arts & Creativity camps for transgender and gender diverse youth in the Baltimore and Columbia areas. This camp is offered tuition-free by Single Carrot Theatre in partnership with Chase Brexton Health Care.
Weekend Mix series – Registrations to Open for Fall 2022!
The weekend is just the beginning in SCT’s Weekend Mix series! In this school-year program, young artists grades K-8 move, groove, and improve as they develop fundamental theatre skills, mix it up as an ensemble, and crank their imaginations to the limit. Participants may dive into a short story, a series of paintings, a poem, a piece of music, or another topic of interest as they work together to create inventive and affective theatrical creations. As they engage as both performers and creators, students unify their own artistic practices with the joy of creating playful & vibrant art for an audience.
Launched in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carrot Bytes is SCT’s flagship virtual learning program. Over the course of a 8-10 session journey, students explore the awesome potential for creating theatrical experiences “wherever they are.” Inspired by SCT’s “site-specific” production philosophy, students are empowered as creators as they explore the ways that stories and dramas can take place in any space, with anything (and anyone)!
